Just got a 90G and noticed the water isn't leveled. It's ontop of a Stingray stand which is on top of a carpet. I assume the floor/carpet is on a small slant.

How could I level the water?

you need to level the stand. Take the water out and make sure that everything is level then set the tank back up. iF you dont your tank will fail and water will be everywhere.

Shim the stand. Drain about half the water, then hammer them in until level.

Can't I just add some foam or something between the aquarium and the stand?

(The aquarium is just on a slight slant... not an obvious huge tilt or anything.)

Not under the aquarium. You want the tank to be completely level and flush with the stand, otherwise you'll create a stress point in the tank, which could cause it to bust.

How far off level are we talking?

hmm, I've deff seen it posted somewhere people saying to put styrofoam under the aquarium ... Can't seem to find it.

I certainly agree about the pressure point... I'll have to find someway of leveling the stand on the carpet.

I suspect the floor is not level.. which will make it complicated.

When I get home from work today I'll post a few pictures to show.

I appreciate the help you guys are giving me. Thanks.

Under the WHOLE aquarium, yes, styrofoam is ok. I thought you just wanted to put it under one side. But even then, I'm not sure if styrofoam under the tank will allow it to level itself out. And that sounds like a lot of work, having to drain the tank and lift it off the stand.

With wooden shims, no need to drain/remove the tank. Just enough so you can hammer some shims in. All the tanks I've put on carpet require shimming to make them level. I do it as the tank is filling. Works just fine.

Also, if you have a wood frame home that has a sufficient crawl-space, you can try a couple floor jacks.
