going to use one of the diy pvc overflow,3/4" pvc.
55g tank,10g tank as filter.

solid line will be water line.
dotted lines are going to be glass separators.
circle is spray bar from overflow
then into filter fiber "stuff like pillow stuffing"
the dotted line under the fiber will have holes for the water to go through
then the next chamber scrubbies
then next chamber sponges
then the pump,200 gph?
this all sound ok?

oh and will having a h.o.b carbon filter kill the w/d? "thought i read that before" :screwy:

Drop your bio-containment so it's in the water some, otherwise looks good.

Do a step-by-step on this if you can...maybe we can get it made a sticky, this could be expanded to fit larger sizes.

Are you putting the carbon in the W/D? or hanging a HOB also? Either way carbon won't harm the W/D.

You just keep getting better & better...:clap Bravo!

 ? ... 1/3rd - 2/3rd rule. (1/3 in - 2/3 out)

Sorry midnight, I don't know why I was thinking that...This is a full wet-flow system, something made me think it was going to be a W/D :wall: (my fault).

Your system will be fine as is. (After it's up & running, you could try an air stone under the scrubbies and compare outputs (chemistry-wise)).

What's a good rule of thumb for size for sizing a sump filter (this is a sump filter I think) to a tank. What flow rate should it be?

1/4 to 1/3 of the main tank depending on bio-load.
