humming bird as a pet....

Just wondering if anyone has ever kept a humming bird as a pet. It seems like it would not be that hard in a fairly good size aviary, just have never seen it done.

Well for the feeding I am sure that would be not that big of a deal. Just have nectar and some insects on a constant basis. besides, I am sure they sleep more than two hours every night. Catching one without harming it would be the tricky part, but that is off topic.
 
true but would you have to have a big cage or tank since there contatly moving? you could build a custom trap. like have a sensor if something goes in and then closes and since there tiny you could put a fine net over it so he cant escape. idk if that'd work though...

They actually do not requite that large of an enclosure for exercise due to the unique ability to hover.
