Hystrix Stingray tank size

Hi fellow monsterfishkeepers, I have a couple of questions about the hystrix Ray...

Can 1 live in a 72x24x24 for life? Just one

Also what is the price they usually run for? I know someone that can get them for wholesale.

I would say yes depending on stock and filteration.

Best to get a captive bred Hysterix. WC could be anything...

My filtration will be either a sump or canister filter... I going towards canister cause it's more affordable. You could recommend a filtration you used that is reliable, since I am aware that stingrays are messy and picky eaters. Tank mates will probably only be a leichardti arowana or jardini. I will most likely get the leichardti arowana because it is less aggressive.

If that's your plan than get 2 fx6 filters with only bio media in the baskets. If you go sump than how big and how much bio can you cram in? Don't go Jardini as you will be appointed in the end. At least I was.

Be careful buying a hystrix from a wholesaler as there are a lot of false hystrix out there.... the fish would need to be from Brazil to possibly be a true hystrix. to your second question I would do a sump if possible as fx 6 are great but can add to nitrate build up which can be a ray killer.
