Check YouTube and these forum. You can easily pick up a used tank, 55 would be perfect like another poster said. then use some silicone and some extra glass/acrylic and build a sump that will be more effective and lower cost than a premium canister filter. Plus it will add extra volume to your system which will help dilute waste.
If you go canister I'd go eheim 2262 over fx5/6.
