I found the most aggressive cichlid

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
For me it's been Hemichromis Fasciatus. So far killed 5 dovii's, 1 jag, 2 convicts, 1 salvani, another 1 or 2 more. I quit buying fish and now have a pair that just took my whole 75g at 3.5"... If you go to the hemichromis fasciatus thread below you can see him in action a little bit. has 3 dovii's cornered and is chasing the hell out of a red devil almost twice his size. So far, this has been the most aggressive fish that I've kept.

Ok so as far as jewels being the most aggressive I put money on either of my red devils any day of the week. Or for that matter my midevil he's abt 11" and has killed every thing I have tried to house with him including a full grown male bumble bee a pair of cons and a flower horn. 50bucks says if I put as many as 4 jewels in with him they all end up dead by the next day.

You say a Jewel is the most aggressive? Have you spent much time in the Central/South American Cichlid hobby?

Wanna know what my red jewl does? nothing shes dead cause there small and not aggressive unless they are bout to breed

The jewel cichlid is by far the most aggressive. I have 2 in my 125 hap and peacock (yes I know they don't belong there but they are the 2nd and 3ed best looking ones I have ever seen and the best is in a mbuna tank) and I just moved everything in my tank and got rid of some fish. I also added 1 9inch Malawi Sand Diver - Fossorochromis rostratus. My 2.5 inch jewels are going after him and he is attacking back the little ones wont back down I will try to get a video.

I have a 6" midevil that could cure your jewel problem in about and hour. You want to borrow him?

Some of you people need to do a little research as far as fish compatability. Of course the fish are agressive you put them in a small glass box. In a big lake this would never happen as the fish that is picked on would just swim away. Read up on a particular fish before you purchase!
