Adapting to your barebottom tank. Light color bottom generally will wash out their color/patterns unless its naturally a darker fish then it might still show some color/pattern.

Change to darker substrate/bottom.

Putting a thin layer of black sand substrate in the tank will work great!

Biggest PBB from Chad I've seen was about 82 cm. But most likely your fish will max around 55-60 cm maybe 70 cm if lucky.
