Important Update: I have purchased the fish, but to a very problematic situation. He has white spots that look like ick, raised red dots that could be a number of things, and a lip sore. I know not to treat with many kinds of medicines because he is a scaleless fish, and have him in quarantine alone with cycled water, good filtration (without activated carbon), and a nice bubbler to airate the water. Now what I need to know: what meds should I use, if any? I have my water change tools at the ready to do frequent changes, and have RODI water waiting, too. Attached are pictures, trying to focus on his ailments, any help welcome.
PS: The Brown coloration is tannins from wood previously in the aquarium, that I have since removed, and the aquarium is 5 gallons, a manageable size for me to to water changes and dosing w/ meds depending on what you guys suggest.

FYI my med stocking is: melafix and pimafix, E M erythromycin, which are on the safer side for scaleless fish, but also have a heavy duty ick and parasite killer that is not for use with fish like cats.

I would have tried with salt and higher temp in the water. That solves alot of problems. Ich or white spot disease is simply cured with salt and higher temperature. I always keep my tanks at 28° celsius and never has problems with any diseases or parasites.

I know not of a case among the fish I have kept where I'd noted a difference between scaled and scaleless fish with regard to medical treatments, including salt. IMHO, this is largely a myth. I don't pay attention to it anyway.

I don't see the red bumps readily. The sore on the lip could be just a mild abrasion effected during the netting and rehoming of the fish. The ich is present and most usually with pristine water and stress-free environment goes away on its own, unless the infestation is intense. This looks a medium infestation. If worried, I'd apply a treatment. Probably salt + temp would be milder on fish than formaline + Malachite Green or Methylene Blue but either should work and I'd aim for the right dose.
