Identify your North American Native Fish

I know them as ling as well. My friend caught one when we went deep sea for sea bass last summer.

True ling are SW and are genus/species Molva molva. They do look alot like burbot.

Okay, this seems to be a pretty popular thread, so I'm gonna ask you to identify this native fish. I'm pretty sure everybody knows how the rules work.

I don't have time to read all the replies, but what is this fish??? He's really cool!!!

Guess you weren't quick enough.

This one is a young male that belongs to my personal collection. I'll try to get another pic up here tomorrow of him. He's grown since then (about 2 weeks ago).
