I am absolutly stumped. Never seen anything like this. Both my parrots came down with this, remotely same time. They are in QT right now. No other fish in my 180 have been affected. Treated with salt, didn't get worse, but did not get better. Second, I treated with Erthromycin upon advice from the LFS. Did improve, so I double treated. Went away, but came right back, despite the additional treatment. Seems to be resistant to this medicine. Can't figure out what is it. Anyone ever seen anything like this before?

It seemed to have formed from the inside out, and began as a raised bump. Progressed very fast (few days) to the stage it is in currently. Hasn't changed much since beside grow a bit.
Fish seem healthy. Good appetite, not tired, lazy. The same active personable fish they were before this tumor like thing. It's almost like they do not even know its there.

Yes, my temperature is raised. 82. I have tried with different salt concentrations.

ouch... that looks painful... I hope not.

Heres what I do raise them temp, add salt ,and add melafix.

wow! in BOTH fish the areas are around the nostrils. have you tried a combo of melafix and pimafix? i have used that in the past in addition to salt and increasing temp. i would raise your temp to about 85 and see what happens-but do it slowly, no more than 2 degrees every day. see if that speeds up the healing process.

it looks so painful-i feel bad for the little guys.

Ok. I'll give the Melafix and Pimafix a shot. Temp is 82 now, will raise to 85. Will keep you posted. This is such an odd problem, has anyone seen this before?

Penquin, I did take a look at that. Interesting, and could be a possible diagnosis. Seems more relavent than any other diseases I am familiar with.

Still eating fine, and energy levels are unchanged, these fish seem to have no idea their face is a big open sore yet.

OH GOD! OUCH! Sorry to see that man! I hope they're fine at the end!
I feel ur pain... my GG is still in quarintine after 3 weeks, and she have not been the same..
