I appreciate everyones input in this. To me is a really big deal so Im glad there are some good commends here. For those that think i'm doing something illegal i'm sorry.

I bet if you have the chance you will go for it without thinking about it!!

Your not breaking the law the fish isn't from brazil.

Of course it is inspector! The fish can be caught ship somewhere else and ship.

Kid, what is your point in saying the fish is not from Brazil then? Whoever is taking them out of Brazil to be shipped is breaking Brazil's export laws, that's for sure.

Whether the law is rational in the face of the dam being built was not what I was addressing.

See your miss understanding me boy the fish are from Brazil but they are exported to a different country then exported to us but seriously F0 anyone can sell there zebras as F0's they can be homebreed fish that is sold to anyone

It doesn't matter where he's getting the fish from, the fact that the fish were shipped out of Brazil after the ban means that someone, somewhere broke the law.

Also, don't kid yourself into thinking you or any breeder for that matter is saving the species outside of the hobby, since none of said stock is going to be released into the wild anyways.

i love this thread its similar to the one i did on imports but wat the hell are we talking about here/ Is this some kinda special pleco or something?

My wife is a lawyer and she loves pleco's. Funny thing is she's not concerned about the laws in Brazil, of course we are sitting here comfortably in the U.S. ;). There's an old saying "when in Rome..........." So there's a difference between "legal'" and "ethical" If it's legal to import them then do it, enough said. Oh yeah I want one............or two?(wink)
