Thank you. Do you mean the pads you posted about? If so, as stated I cannot use them because they are delicate and made for small fish, not compatible with our behemoths that destroy everything, not only delicate but even strong.

Hmm...guess you could try a test patch on a wall?

Trouser Cough thank you for this idea. What I know as a sand filter is quite different from your septic system, it is usually a pressurized pool-type sand filter. It's a good filter but overall I don't like this complex and relatively energy-inefficient concept.
