I compared this to a pair of Pearls at a lfs which were £1250 for the two and they are very small.

i paid £350 for this male pearl pup and sold it for £350
on pearls and marbles lots of people pay different prices. you have your base pay of what they normally cost then you start paying for certain patterns you want. so i think if he paid extra for it then he must have liked something about it. in the end yes you can get them at way different prices but if you buy it then you feel like its a fair price and are happy with it. and thats what matters in the end. im sure he knows the regular prices of them. and if he didnt well thats his own fault for not researching. but to me he sounds happy with them so im not going to tell him he over paid. sure i might not pay the same as him but in some cases i might pay more. we all like our different things. ask certain marble hoarders how much they pay for their marbles and you will find out those nice ones they have usually arent cheap base price.
i just feel that a price shouldn't be higher just because of the sellers rep if thats the case then frank/Nico and mike H20s prices should be double what anyone else sells their rays at as they are some of the best sellers in the world right now

all I'm trying to point out is Toby lives in the UK like myself which is a small place and their are some good home breeders in the UK who don't need to live of a rep
if its rep you want then take the drive over to Holland you can do the round trip in about 12 hours and the euro tunnel only costing £49 return
you will also get the rays a lot cheaper than over £1k and as a added extra you get to see the mega tank

I am 100% comfortable with the price paid. But I appreciate your comments are only trying to help me.
LFS prices are fully valid, they have overheads to cover and we have a choice to use them or not.
To be honest, and I do not mean to sound arrogant, £200-£300 is not really an issue to me, I have spent more than that on a bottle of wine or a meal.

By the way, reputation is EVERYTHING, without trust I would not buy a thing. The seller of my Rays agreed to me having them and has waited over 2 months whilst my tank becomes ready and he has refused to let them go until I confirm the tank is fully cycled.
