I'm having great luck with the Quiet1's.mike dunagan;2020733; said:funny we went to get the two tanks for another INDY STYLE DIY guy and pharaoh. I took home a free Neolamprologus cylindricus. Not a bad trip
Well I also picked up the new pump that day and today I plumped the two pumps into the the showroom setup. It works great. I added a quietone 4000. This really kicked the turnover up with both pumps running. Over course 6 DIY overflows easily keep up with the water! I was not terribly worried about the turnover, but wanted it a bit higher for when I get the tropheus added!
One thing I found out when cleaning the impeller, remove the housing by turning it counter clockwise just until it clears the bosses, then pull it STRAIGHT off. Any side pressure will snap the ceramic impeller shaft. I ran one of my 4000's a year with the shaft broken in two, and it never missed a beat. I finally replaced it and it's still goin strong.
