No basement sure would be a space restriction. But you can keep fish outside in ponds year round.kakojones;607418; said:The problem with florida....no basements so no room for a tank as awesome as this one. well, unless you buy the neighbor's house.
Love the tank, good job and keep the dream goin'.
Not to raise an old thread but when you do these water changes do you have to filter them or treat the water for chlorine? Is it tap water or well water? Just interested in knowing how you ensure 4,000 gallons of water a week is ready to add to the tank and not introduce harmful chemicals. Thanks.arapaimag;179121; said:Filtration & Water Changes
I use a 600 gallon sand filter on a manual basis. Most often not at all but always after a heavy feeding. I also use an airstone all the time and recently added a second airstone. They operate from the bottom of the tank (6 feet deep). I utilize large water changes (up to 4,000 gallons a week to keep the water clean. The tank has 4 swimming pool floor drains that advance to the water to the filter. I use up to 4,000 gallon weekly water changes to keep the tank clean.

Hi,
I use a well and go directly to the tank with the water. I do the changes in no pattern during each week. I do keep track of the days I do the water changes.
