Is $20 Good Price for Zebra Pleco???

A Fish Breeder on CraigsList who seems VERY EXPERANCED offered me a "CHOCLATE ZEBRA PLECO" for 20 dollars... he said he has a bunch of them... he was VERY knowledgeable on them and gave me LOTS of background information!
So,is $20 a good price???...

Rather miss leading title as a Zebra plec as In l46 and a chocolate zebra plec are too completely different fish but $20 is an ok price for a chocolate zebra.

chocolate zebra is also called fake zebra, they are L270 while true zebra is L46! I can buy those L270 for $15 a piece at 2-3''!

I'd say that is a pretty good price for them since their really nice species of pleco

A real L46 retails in my city for like 150-250. They dont get that large though. Im afraid it might become a meal someday when my rays or cats grow up or ev3n the arowana so I stayed away. They are super cool though

I guess the consensus here is that the plec in question is most likely not a zebra.Your fear for the fish's safety in your tank is legitimate given the tank's residents as one of them will wind up eating a zebra..As a small growing fish they are not suited to being kept with large predatory fish.
