Is loud music bad for your pets?

Definitely move your bird or speaker, birds often fail to thrive if they are stressed often.

You should post your bird questions in the 'Reptiles...Other Pets' section, you'll get lots of bird owners responding. :)

Most birds have pretty sensitive hearing. As to your fish, remember sound travels through water 2x as fast as air. I would venture a guess that the force or "shockwave" for lack of a better term, that is produced by sound through water is stronger than it is through air. Probably not a good idea to Rock out by your aquarium and hip hop and rap at any level is bad for any living thing (I know I'm showing my age).

I can blast my heavy metal and my fish don't care at all!
Once my scissortails even danced!
They are probably used to it.
Once i was tapping a sick beat for like 5 mins before i realized it was on my tank.
They weren't even phased when I added the pleco.
the NET, on the other hand, actually almost killed one of my danios from shock.
scared us both, I guess.

I have been swimming in some rivers and creeks where the whitewater was thunderous underwater and I was surrounded by fish.....

i wouldnt say its bad for them, but they deff dont like it.. and might stress them out, so actually ya i guess its not the best for them
