Is super glue safe for fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
doesnt superglue get soft when it is wet for a long period of time?

superglue will not hold rocks together very well regardless. go to a home improvement store or hardware store and get GE Silicone I, it is labeled as Window & Door.

Silicone won't work very well for what you are doing. Check the link below this would be your best bet.

I am planning on building my own rock caves for my fish, the aquarium silicone costs like 20 dollars here so i wanted to know if superglue would work? Thanks for the help in advance

Where is here?

Super Glue will weaken under water, & is not for potable water.

I have used superglue on the odd occasion for emergency sutures on medium - large sized fish and to help gaping wounds heal over. So to answer your question, no it is not toxic to fish, but for what your doing, I would not recommend superglue. As per previous sposters, use silicon glue. It is cheaper in in hardware stores and cheaper in caulking gun sizes.

I'm sure silicone would work fine. Another option is goop It has worked very well for me on just about anything and goop are meant to bond things together not just sealing stuff so they're really tough when dry.
