I have the topfin 55 gallon setup and the tank seems well built enough. The stand i'm sure is a cheap particle board stand, it will hold the weight of your tank but 10 years down the road especially if it gets wet all the time, it may start to worry me. You could pretty easily add some pieces of 2x4 inside as supports which would make me more comfortable using it long term.

Particle board isn’t bad. Start off understanding it’s cheap manufacture. Check it thoroughly for tightness. Color match caulk the wood joints. Seal up any exposed particle edge, usually the back edges. Paint it again and it’ll last the life of the tank. 50$ in extra material when new. Also can add 2x4 reinforcements in corners if your somewhat handy.
That's great but will void warranty. I personally will avoid buying stands made of partical board. Was very fortunate to build a stand before old stand for my 180 gallon collapsed.

This is the old stand in my basement. It was used for Saltwater and Freshwater over 26 years old. Noticed it bowing 3 years ago.

Yes grateful it held up for all those years.

I agree that when possible skip the particle board. But when trying to stay a little on budget all’s you can do is mitigate the danger. While 2x4 reinforcements could possibly void a warranty, I fail to see any water”proofing” actions could void it. If it does they were never going to honor the warranty anyway and 0 manufacturers have a warranty that applies to a tank not on their stand.

My 120 gal. had a Top Fin sticker on it, but both the stand & tank were wrapped in Marineland packing paper.
