I'm interested and curious if there is any cichlid that could take on a full-grown male dovii and a full-grown male umbee? I don't expect many answers when it comes to these twos, lol. I can't really think of many answers myself. Such as a full-grown peacock bass that is larger, but they will be beaten up for sure, their aggression just doesn't compare to full-grown male dovii and umbee.

agression and the ability to hold their own especially in larger cichlids can be highly dependant on the individual. for example, I'll bet that a particularly feisty flowerhorn or jaguar cichlid could definitley kill an umbee, not so sure about a dovii, but possibly depending on the individual. another 2 that come to mind would maybe be a black nasty, but it would have to be a very large individual. another one could be a large cichla like the temensis you mentioned have been known to be somewhat agressive, and that combined with the fact that the cichla would have a large body mass advantage could lead to the dovii's demise. all of these are purley hypothetical, and highly dependent of the individual

These childish posts always remind me of why I don’t frequent forums much anymore.
I swear, If I was asking another question such as what could take on a full-grown saltwater crocodile? What would've happened if a full-grown male lion vs a nile crocodile? No one would react like this and people would just give answers to the questions, but when it comes to fishes, there're always comments like this, even though I was just asking out of curiosity. What's the difference? At the end of the day, they're all animals.

Would you say a question such as 'who could possibly take on prime Mike Tyson?' as a childish post? This is the same case as this question. They're not childish, it's just a question out of curiosity, something that all humans have, no matter the ages. What do a human does when they're curious? They ask people or a person, especially reliable people who could give the answers. This site has countless knowledgeable people about fishes. Where would I ask if not on this site? My friends and brothers who have no knowledge about aquarium fish? Since there's no actual animal abuse going on, just a question. Why reacted so negatively?

Everyone’s entitled to their opinions. That’s what makes forums interesting. He doesn’t have to read your posts and you don’t have to care about his opinion. Some are serious, others are witty, some wanna argue, while others are funny. Just do you and don’t worry about it
