Congrats Jay, constructions coming along nicely. That tank will look amazing at that height. Rays are going to love it.
 
Great looking tank! I like the idea of glass tops inlaid in the acrylic. My tank is 6'x3' with 2 openings in the top, about the same size openings as yours. However, I did notice that soon after setting up the tank the whole top piece of acrylic bowed up a little. Is there any wiggle room around the perimeter of the glass pieces? If your top acrylic piece bows some, that may create an issue with the glass. I asked my tank manufacturer about the bowing and he didn't know why it happened. No issues with it so far.
How many rays are going in your new tank?
 
Acrylic doesn't like water (kinda sponges it up) and will warp like that. The thicker the acrylic the less the effect but it'll happen. Polycarbonate or glass work.

There is some wiggle room, but being 1 inch acrylic i am hoping for little bowing. The plan is 4 rays, but i am bad at sticking to plans...lol
