Hi they are awesome, could you give us lesser mortals some tips on your tank, such as size, water parameters, water changes and the like.
My 470g tank get a 50% water change a week and with a ph of 6.8 they look nothing like your beautys....
Mfg Peter
i'd have to test my water to give you some exact measurements but I can give you a few sparse answers.
The tank is a 125 gallon wide grow out.. 4x2x2'
My ph is acidic, and the water is soft.. I have a bunch of drift wood in the tank..
Filtration Setup: I run a 25 gallon sump with about 7 gallons+ of bio balls... The pump I used is a reeflo snapper with barely any head loss.. This pump ia rated to 2700 gallons per hour at the max. I also run a fx5 and the media used are the sponges that it comes with and I use ceramic bio rings in the center compartments. On top of that I run a 24 hour drip system which changes a consistent 35-40 gallons a day.. My next setup the amount of water changed daily is going to be increase. Plus I do one to two water changes weekly and they usually range any where from 40-60 percent. I usually do one on Weds. and one some day during the weekend when I have time. My turn over rate is pretty intense and my water is pretty pristine.
Temperature: My water temp is up there.. 83-88 degrees.. It tends to change depending on the time of year. (my fish room is in the basement)
Diet: I feed those guys and mix of krill and pellets.
Also all my fish are wild caught so they tend to be a lot more vibrant.
