I received some paddlefish Thursday, 10 arrived but 2 were DOA, 6 of the ones that were left were upside down on their backs and immobile. I transfered them to the 30 gallon aquarium and within a few minutes they were all swimming and all are doing well now. They eat like pigs and crap like horses!
They range from about 3" to 1.5" and swim consistently. So far they are not banging their snouts against the sides of the tank and seem to be handling the confines of the aquarium quite well. I am feeding them the last of my Daphnia magna as the heat causes my daphnia culture vats to crash. These fish will already eat pellets and have really adapted well to the aquarium.
The temp in the tank is 72 and I have a Marineland Penguin 200 filtering the tank. The paddlefish like the current and spend a lot of time swimming into the current.
