they dont seem like they would be invasive, and theyd definitley be killed quickly in the wild because of their slow movements and soft bodies.. i dunno maybe im terrribly horribly wrong and theyre just like the snakeheads taking over orange county *shrug* im just curious

Bump, and my brother says its because they can be bred with tiger salamanders to make an evil monster invasive species? something tells my hybrids aren't THAT scary..

They might thrive in some of Cali's mid-elevation fishless lakes, possibly damaging the already-reeling frog populations there. There is also a possiblity of hybridization with the threatened Ambystoma californiense.

aaaaaah that makes alot of sense, too many endangered frogs to take that sort of risk
it seems like hybridization wouldnt happen in the wild though, or are captive hybrids the danger?

There's no reason it couldn't happen in the wild. Introduced barred tiger salamanders are already hybridizing with the native California tigers.

california of the position your to stupid to be trusted with anything possibly hazardous if they can help it.

where are the good old days where a five year old could buy a real m80 and loose a finger. sure sometimes bad stuff happens but the times it didnt, those moments are what cherished childhood memories are made of.

maybe you were informed wrong...wild cought specimen can't be imported.
they are endangered species.
but i think you should be able to be abel to buy "domestic" axolotls in CA.

p.s. i don't knw the CA law.

they live native in mexico, so i wouldn't be surprised if they already have some crossing the border
