I would trade some of my 6" loaches for a 12" loach. :naughty:

I have seen a difference between the male and female colors. The females usually seem to be a little more faded when they get over the 6-8" mark.

Would feeding the loaches krill stop the color fading as they get older? Imagine a 12 inch clown loach with its full, bright colors!

Foods with high beta carotene such as carrots certainly will help but remember that the colors fade naturally as they grow older so do not expect your attempts to keep the colors consistent may succeed.

That is one large loach, I have a 6" loach whose colour as yet has not faded but even if it did I don't keep loaches just for their colour there personality is what attracted me to them in the first place.

Wow! That tank is amazing and the clowns are even better!

Thanks. Loaches will eat carrots too?
Yes, they will eat almost anything even vegetables.

Our local pet-store had one about same size C loach.Loach was alone in tank for couple weeks and then someone must have took it home.

Local pet-stores have loaches almost everytime (one time I saw about 40-50 of them in 100L tank),they are usualy small baby-loaches.

My oddball and his/hers normal friend :D loach number 3 is hiding.
