Jaguar cichlids

As a grow out sure, but they hit 20-24 inches, so it'll need a larger tank later on, I think you could get away with it up until it hits 18 inches. If you want something similar to a jaguar cichlid, a parachromis loisellei would work well. They stay a lot smaller and look very similar and are in the same family and have the same behavior.
What are the tank dimensions? That would dictate how long it would be suitable.
Are you thinking of parachromis dovii? I've never heard of a jaguar cichlid (Parachromis managuensis) getting much larger than 16".
To the OP depends on dimensions of your 112 gallon and filtration and if you wanted other fish in with it. Plenty of people have kept sole fish in 75-120 gallon wide tanks for life.
No, I had one that hit 22 inches in a 400 (54"x48"x36") I had, they just stay 16 inches because they are in small tanks and fed processed foods. Even if they stay 16 inches Idk if a 120 would be very good for one. I looked up parachromis motaguensis and have found a couple different ones though, like this one http://fishbase.sinica.edu.tw/Summary/SpeciesSummary.php?id=4776. I don't think that's a jaguar cichlid, but it says its a parachromis motaguensis. I guess you could get away with a female in a 112, probably not a very good idea though. Just get a measuring tape and measure out 16 inches see how well that'll be in a 112 tank, I don't know about you but I wouldn't like to see a fish crammed in there.
I agree that most Parachromis (whatever species) don't reach their full potential growth in the average aquarium, but its mostly due to degrading water quality in too small tanks.
A 5 " managuense might be OK with a 50% water change per week, yet after it hits 10" of growth, it might need 40% water change in that same tank every other day to continue growth, or factors like elevated nitrate, and the hormones (stuff filters don't take care of) those substances fish exude tend to slow, if not stop growth altogether, and may effect long term health.
If an aquarist has the wherewithal, and the time to keep up that kind regular water quality maintenance in tandem with constant normal Parachromis growth, a female managuense might just do alright in a 112 gal, without any other fish.
I kept a compatible pair in a 150 with a 50 gal sump for years, but to maintain pristine water, I needed to do 40% water changes every other day, and have kept a number of Parachromis species using that type routine.
I will admit if I were to do another pair of Parachromis today, I'd want a much larger tank, somewhere in the 250 to 300 gal range, or larger.

22 inch jaguar, love to see a pic of that fish. Largest I've seen are around the 16 inch mark.
Wish I had a picture, unfortunately he died about 20 years ago. I doubt it but he could've been a hybrid, as far as I and the person who sold him to me know he wasn't one. Looking back on it he didn't look like one either
I saw a youtube video of a guy with an 18 inch jag.. thing was a beast.. I think 20 plus is doable in a large enough tank.. also big frequent waterchanges
Agreed, he was in a big tank that ran on a 50 gallon sump with two fx5s and a lot of live plants in the sump. We really didn't do big water changes though, about %50 once a week or so. We also fed him a lot (me and my friends were into bass fishing so we routinely had a bunch of crayfish, nightcrawlers, hellgrammites, small bluegill, etc for him to eat. I think a mix of the large tank and feeding him a lot is what got him so big. It was essentially an empty tanm except for a few plants some rocks
