Thought I’d share my Jalo, they seem to be the perfect mbuna. Not very aggressive, absolutely beautiful and don’t get too big , and can go with peacocks

I don’t like to make generalizations but that’s my experience with jalosMy takeaway from your post is the Jalo is an unusually peaceful Mbuna that can potentially be placed with the generally more peaceful Peacocks and Haps, which is good to know!
I would order online from a reputable breeder, or buy from a high quality LSF. I wouldn’t get one from a box store, it will probably be a hybrid, mislabeled or low qualityWow they seem like the perfect fit for my aquarium. I'm really into jalos now because they seem like more colorful AND peaceful demasoni, a win-win situation. Where do you guys find them usually? Are they found as assorted African cichlids in a petco or LFS, or do you have to order them online?
