Jaw stuck open

id try to fix the jaw myself by pressing on the sides and such. sounds like to me if the problem isnt solved then the fish wont make it.
Similar think happened to my oscar when it attacked my bichir eel. He was able to move it some after a few days and after about a week he was just about back to normal. If the jaw is in tact (no weird protrusions) than it may be dislocated. If its broken you may be able to tell by an up close investigation. When it happened to my oscar, he just kept it out like he was yawning perpetually. If thats the case it may just be a sprain and it may fix itself.
After a week an no progress though it doesnt sound good. If he still isnt moving or closing it then you might take fishguts advice and see if you can reset it. I'd wait a few more days though. Fish can go a while with out food, trying to adjust its jaw would be an absolute last ditch effort.

This used to happen on occasion to a big male koi angelfish that I had. He would jaw-lock with his mate (she was crazy) and I'd come home to find his mouth protruding like he was yawning. Usually it would only last a day or so, then I'd come home to find it back to normal, and he'd happily eat and go about his business.
Eventually this happened and it didn't right itself. It didn't look any different than usual, just protruding, but he swam around for four days and it never fixed itself. I attempted to gently push on it a bit when I caught him asleep one night, but it didn't correct the problem and he still had a protruding mouth. After a week or so of this, I came home to find him dead at the bottom of the tank. It wasn't enough time for him to starve, so I'm guessing he either succumbed to stress or the female finished him off.
