I will probably be getting another 12000 to run both at a lower setting soon.

These pumps feed slowly. I haven't started mine enough times to see if there's anyway to bypass the feed, but that won't work if it always does that. There's a feed button, but I'm not really sure how or when to use it. If they always ramp up to the power level you have them set at, then checking the sump level like that won't work.
They do have a build up time and there is no bypass afaik. The feed button is for feeding your fish without blowing floating stuff everywhere.

They do kick back on after 10 minutes. Guess a clearer explanation is needed where the "feed" button is concerned.

I timed it today when I shut the pumps off to feed my fish. 10 minutes feels like forever but is quite long enough for a feeding session.

Snagged this off a web site for future reference. Web links have a funny way of going dead. :/

Yes the feed button turns the pump off for 10 minutes and then it turns back on.

For what its worth, the lowest setting on the pump is 1/2 power, with 10 intermediate settings. I've read others say that it takes a long time to ramp up to the desired power level, but that's not true. I would guess that it takes 10-20 seconds for the pump to reach the speed you set it for.

I'm very happy with my DC-8000 for my 110G tank. The pumps are so cheap, you can buy 2 of them to keep one as a spare and still be under budget compared to a lot of their competitors. I have tested mine with a power meter and it does draw the amount of power that Jebao rates it at.

I don't have a good way of measuring the flow, but compared to the drain sizes, etc., I can tell it does flow pretty close to what its rated for.
