Hey guys, I really want to get a pair julidochromis ornatus amd I need some info on then

1. How long can they live in a 36 gallon 36x12x18(tank dimensions are in inches)
2. What can they be kept with
3. Diet

1. Lifelong. 8 or more years with proper care.
2. In that tank size I would not add other fish. The ornatus will multiply pretty quickly once they started breeding. They grow slow and tolerate fry for much longer than a lot of other cichlid species. Often older offspring helps protecting new fry (cooperatively breeding).
2. High quality algea flakes or smaller pellets + lean live or frozen foods like daphnia, cyclops etc. Freshly hatched brine shrimp help to raise fry faster if needed.

How much do there fry sell for? I have a 2 cycled 20 gallon bucket which I wanted to use for oscar fry.
 
Here in Europe 4-20€ depending on size.
But you will not need an extra tank for a while. They grow slow and can stay with their parents for many months.
