knight goby in saltwater?

I've had my knight goby for a about a year and its been in brackish the whole time.

I know that scats and monos can be acclimated to full salt. Could the knight goby tolerate full salt or is it strictly brackish?
 
No, they are low-end BW fish. Better to keep in FW, than marine conditions.
 
Would it be alright in freshwater? Just because I have a freshwater setup but my brackish tank is too small for any fish I want so i'd like to make it a small saltwater tank.
 
Small SW tanks are very difficult to maintain. Even the smallest amount of evaporation changes the salinity drastically. These are BW fish & should be kept in the best conditions possible for their longevity.
 
everyone says knight gobies are brackish, and light brackish at that. However, according to fishbase.org (a highly reputable academic site) the knight goby is freshwater and rarely found in brackish. Ive had my knight goby in fresh water for a year now, he got sick early on but got my nitrates down and hes been fine ever since.

keep him slight brack or freshwater.
 
Fishbase also says GSPs & F8s are FW too.
 
Knight Gobies are normally found in fresh water in the wild, there are 6 known types that are all called Knight Gobies that look very very similar.
These fish seem to fair better in weak brackish water in home aquariams, just like mollys do.
These would die fairly quickly in full marine conditions so it is not really an option. If you can't keep them in weak brackish or very good fresh water then you should not get them.
 
But do best in low BW in captivity.
