Great project! I'm setting up a similar refugium right now for my 300 gallon native tank; I'm going to try a combination of elodea, hornwort, and some macroalgae.

getting them out is very labor intensive and disruptive to the pond, but perhaps one day we will dig them out.

the hornwart works great!

I would also consider water lettuce ;).
I've heard it is superior to the hornwart and easier to remove without disrupting sediment in the bottom of the refugium

Thanks for the advice, Kogo! I hate to put an exotic in my native tank (even in the refugium) but I may try another floater; maybe American frogbit.

keepin it pure? I'm sure you'll be more satisfied with the finished project that way.

thanks for the link, glad I could help.
No prob, and yep atleast I knew I wasn't gonna go waste my time or money. I'm pretty happy with it, after some krylon fusion maybe and some lexan over it, be the million dollar top (well after lexan anyways)

Have a good day.
