Actually it looks more like a L-600 to me.. the second varaiation of L114s.. still nice tho.. L-600 are harder to find..

Take good care of it! And make sure your pH is below 8!!! plecos need soft water not hard alkaline water of the african lakes

Wow i havent seen those but i googled them and i think you hit it on the head. He was in the discus show tank at my LFS for about a year and i had my eye on it. They finally sold him to me though.

And about the pH, its about 7.9 but he drip acclimated for few hours. He's out all times of the day, and when i turn off the filters for feeding he comes right out and picks up the scraps.

7.9 is still 8.... amazon water is dirty/swapy water.. very soft at 6.5 - 7.2..

But ya..they do get active at night.. as do most plecos..
