is the blue panaque a "real" panaque in the way they eat wood? I have a plywood tank and would like to grab a couple but wouldn't even think about putting a true panaque in there.
Just to add some better info to this thread, a blue panaque isn't actually a panaque at all. Its actually a baryancistrus species. I know it makes no sense to me either, but this does mean he doesn't technically "require" driftwood...
If you get a true panaque you may not have anything to worry about if you think hes gonna eat the tank. Depending on what you used to seal the wood the pleco probably will leave it alone. If you have a few pieces of drift wood in there he should go for that instead.
