I'm thinking about getting a xingu but their so many types of l27. I want the gold line "Thunder" correct me if I'am wrong. The xingu with the reddish fins is a l27a and platinum is the l27b. The gold Thunder is the l27c.
Any infos and pics will help, I dnt want to get rip off when purchasing one thanks in advance.

Its very confusing, maybe try it out at planetcatfish amd see if someone can explain better. I know that collection point might help if u trust ur seller. The ones that I know are collected from xingu, tocantins, araguaia, tapajos, teles pires, etc... So far I just have the xingu, should be getting two from araguaia tomorrow, which is supposed to be gold. I see some nice looking photos of royal from teles pires so im on a hunt for one. I think snookins platinum that are on aquabid are from tapajos.

I just past up a gold line last week, the body was a nice gold color but didn't like the many narrow black lines. The black line ran from the front to where the tail start and was clear and dark. Where the heck do the gold line "thunder" come from.

Maybe its one of the golds im getting from snookin?? Was it on aquabid? Anyways, large xingus looks awesome also and are more redily available these days and prices been dropping

My lfs had it, I was for $90 @ 3" I seen the big one snookin got it $350 and $250 for the platinum I think.

Gold line thunder L27 is from Tapajos and Araguaia, with the Araguaia form more rare and in my opinion more gold in color.

L-27a=L-330 not a Brazilian panaque

All the Brazilians are described as panaque armbrusteri + river like "xingu" "araguaia" "tocantins" "tabsjos"

Thunders are from tapajos the common names like thunder or thunder goldline confuse the heck out of me.

Goldlines are from araguaia and look nothing alike IMO

Tocantins is also a look all on it's own

Not sure what snookn21 has up it's not settled and out if the water but platinum is a common name for Xingus I'd ask what the collection point is first.

Here's my goldline from araguaia nit all of them get this pattern though. This gives an idea as too what the body shape and colour is like. Really wide and tall fish
