Has anyone owned the larger marineland tanks at 125 gallon and bigger? Pros and cons? Was looking to add a 75 gallon but was debating on just grabbing a 125 gallon.

I have three Marineland tanks, two 90 corner overflow tanks and one 265g with dual corner overflows. Each one is well over 10 years old with black silicone and I’ve experienced zero issues. To be honest in the 40 plus years in the hobby I’ve only had one tank leak(I had a Stealth heater explode in an overflow which ruptured the back) and that wasn’t a failure of the tank. Maybe, I’ve just been very lucky.

Yes I've owned Marineland tanks... No I've never had issues with them.

My experience and opinion is about the same as Hukit's posted above. Just about every time, if a tank fails the user did something wrong (or some other non-aquarium related mishap).

Was going to impulse buy the assembly at PetSmart to move some guys around in my fish room soon. Silicone is my main concern.

If you are on the fence between the 75G and a 125g, get the 125G. A six foot tank gives you so many more fish options than a four footer. I purchased the 125G Aqueon Petsmart set up six to 7 years ago. It’s been great with zero issues.

I echo Eric's opinion.

Every time I've gotten a bigger aquarium than I've ever owned, while shopping it seems huge! Then I get it home and its huge! 3 months later it's just my big tank. And 2 years later its not big enough. Every. Single. Time.

And, PetCo is having their 50% off sale right now. One of them near me had a 6' 125 Gal regularly $999, on sale $499.

I've got 2 petsmrt Marineland 125's for over 6 years with no issue. 125 is a great size and gives you more options than the 75. Best of luck with whatever you choose.

It depends on the specific marineland tank. My local fish store stopped selling them because there were way too many leakers. If you google the 300g Deep Dimension tank, they are notorious for blowing the bottom seal. As is their 150g extra tall tank. Also the 5 foot 120g. For a while Marineland tanks were blowing so many bottom seals that they started putting clear silicone on the bottom and black on the sides thinking that the clear was 'stronger' which it isn't. Personally, I would only trust Aqueon tanks for large stuff. They have thicker glass than Marineland tanks and thicker cross bracing. My Aqueon 150g is 16 years old and still going strong and my 90g is 9 years old.
