L. moralesi is MORE similar than L. nigrotaeniatus.

So, I'm thinking it could be a moralesi. Any other similar ones? Thanks a lot

I found lots of other similar ones, but none of them had the same stripe, it was either non-existant or went the whole length of the body.

If you search "leporinus" in google you may see more, that's what I did. Most of the links were down though.

The 2 most likely are the nigrotaeniatus (more commonly imported of the 2), or the moralesi, there is some variation within each species from fish to fish and also as the fish ages, here are pics of the slender young moralesi and an older, more robust adult. They can reach around 12". The nigrotaeniatus gets up to 16" neither is known for aggression but sometimes fight with other leporinus, They are omnivores but require a fair ammount of vegetatble matter like algae to do really well.

Thanks so much - Having seen that, I can be quite certain that this is a moralesi. Quite a nice fish indeed.
He is a PIG! He ate two repto min sticks at one feeding. (When you think of how big he is, 3 inches, that is pretty impressive. I like my fish to have a very varied diet, so they get a MIX of all sorts of weird pellets - reptomin, all brands and types of fish pellets, and dried krill, and so forth.
He actually was chasing some guppies as well.
