Lets see those Hypsophrys Nicaraguensis (Nicaragua Cichlid)

Wow Im happy with the amount of nics so far in this thread but I know their must be more!

I would love to breed notho´s female with rrcoolj´s male. what a combination!

Good looking Nics everyone! Here's a crummy pic of my female. She's only about 3.5" so hopefully she continues to color up. I'm looking for a male to pair her up with but haven't had much luck so far...

She is definitely my favorite in the tank. She's got quite the personality and always seem to be up to something. I think they really are an underrated cichlid!

figures a thread like this pops on the day i go to the lfs and they have one for sale. Did i make a mistake by not picking up the 3 incher for $20

$20 seems a bit steep, but they are awesome fish!

here are my two....

One of my favorite species, I lost my female last month she was a bit too fiesty for her own good and always got in fights and one of them ended very bad for her :( Desperately searching for a replacement, had a youngster but she was very nippy so back to square one. They seem to be so rare in the UK atm....

Some stunning ones in this thread though I love the males in them as well!! I often over look males but some of these are just beautiful fish!!

Some old/crappy pics of my pair/mom with fry. They are a few inches bigger now and have spawned quite a few times. The male challenges my male festae constantly so I am going to have to build them their own tank soon. I'll get some better SLR pics up once I can manage to get a few. How closely bonded these two are is suprising.

Wow these are brilliant keep them coming guys!
jrrlbds7 that male is stunning! these were the first fish I ever got from south america, got a bright gold and blue female that laid eggs with my bloodparrot (infirtile)

JK47 those guys are amazing, my male has that same weird blotchy pattern on his side instead of a line, maybe they are the same linneage, do you know the location yours are?

Feels good to have a mod join in on this thread, lets not dissapoint!

I do not know the linniage, sorry. Normally he does not have the barring that's visible in these pics, they were in breeding dress at the time. I'll try and get a few of their normal patterns this afternoon and post em up for you to compare.
