Lets see what's in your stand! mechanical photo's

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice! I see multiple people using canisters in conjunction with wet/dry's. In a completely sealed acrylic top (other than the overflow/ return holes) I think that would be an impossible route for me- unfortunately

I keep the canister looped in the sump. It is just there to stay seeded for a hospital tank or QT tank.

OMG! Nice pics guys!

aldiaz33 you have some bad-ass filtration setups! How do you have the inlet/ outlet entering/ exiting the top of the acrylic for those canisters? Did you drill more holes?

one side nice and simple and tidy with 1 canister. and no moaning at me because its a jebao. cheap, definitely. better than the 2215 sitting redundant, definitely.

the other side not so much. with all my bits and bobs and a spare 2215 as well.

On my 240G I just have them in the overflow box. I thought about drilling the top so I can hang them in the tank, but I kinda like that they are hidden from view in the overflow. But I may just end up drilling the tank because I'd rather have them pull "poo" from the bottom of the tank versus just filtering whatever ends up in the overflows.

My 270 has slits for HOB filtration, so I just use those slots.

Thats just sick .... Absolutely evil sick  . Thats way up there with pacu moms setup. I like the foot print on that 270

Thanks. As you can tell, I like the Sump + Canister combo. I use the sumps mainly for bio and the canisters for mechanical and it seems to keep my water pretty pristine. The 3' width on the 270 is nice, but I actually like the longer dimension of the 240.
