You must have the perfect parameters Jexnell Jexnell , my vals just look sad.
It's my opinion that Vals need an incredible amount of light. Not only did I have the Finnex running 24/7 on the factory settings. As seen below, half of the tank got indirect natural sunlight all day and a couple hours of direct sunlight in the late afternoon.

Oh so you use the cover from the Val’s to allow your fish a night while epic growth. I thought all plants need a rest time, even weed can’t be grown 24/7 light lol

Not exactly. The pre programed Finnex was on for 20 hours a day. Really dim at first to represent dawn. Then builds intensity till the brightest at noon. Then slowly starts to dim till midnight when it goes off all together. Also from 8 till midnight it's blue light.
When you first plug it in you set the time. It has presets 3,6,9,12 am/pm so you plug it in at one of them times and it will match the natural sun cycle.
