cooked meat is not bad all u guys on here say its bad and it will kill ur fish and they wont live long but my aunt have three pacus and she have had them for 5 or 6 years and there 15inches or bigger she never feed them feeders or any kind of fish food always gave them cooked food and there huge imma take pics of them for all of you who dont believe me and prove to u they can eat cooked food

Cooked food is just outright not nutritious to fish. As said a 5-6 y.o. Pacu should actually be bigger than your aunts.

if you feed your fish cooked foods your not very smart, if your feeding your fish FRIED CHICKEN hahahahah please do the fish a favor and give it to someone who has a BRAIN!!!!!! IM SERIOUSLY IN SHOCK RIGHT NOW

oh and i feed my piranhas shrimp ( raw) catfish (raw) white fish (raw) tilapia( raw) flounder (raw) all on a random schedule except for my baby caribes i skipped a feeding one night and my five turned to four (they get hungry fast). sometimes i buy cuddle fish and squid ( raw) and they really like it.

other than water snakes im covered on the subject of cooked food my sister feeds her ps hotdogs i feed mine unkooked fish and shrimp live frogs and snakes mine are three times the size of hers with a lot better color if u love your fish treat them right or give them to somone who will the human body took thousands of years of evolution to digest cooked meat properly it modifys the proteins and starches

Yeah, DMONEY, please listen to us. Piranhas digestive systems are not meant to digest cooked food. They have not evolved for that as Kent just stated. It's like, maybe you could survive on cattle feed & grass for a while, but you would feel like **** and probably die a really slow painful death from malnutrition because our bodies are not meant to digest dried raw corn and grass......

so is feeding pink shrimp not good? cuz i had assumed thats what everyone else was doing...so do people use the pink or black and grey shrimp hahah

Although I've heard of people trying to feed pink(cooked shrimp) you should really be feeding the raw/frozen uncooked kind. With the shell on if you're piranha are big enough. Cooking removes alot of the nurtients that are beneficial to fish.

ok so the black ones haha. damn

It's ok.. At least now you know.. :)

I personally use the ones out of the wal-mart seafood section that are frozen in 1lb and sometimes 2lb incriments. Raw of course and they have them peeled w/tail off and tail on w/shell.

Of course you can get raw shrimp about anywhere but I mention this because wal-marts frozen shrimp bags are resealable so I can remove how many I need and throw the rest back in.
