You got to be one of the few people here actually see these rare cichla in the wild. The experience is definitely priceless. Your next trip will be July 09 ??? I just came back from my vacation..... too early to plan anything in the near future. Can we plan next year?? I will start saving some money and come up with some plan. Will get a SoCal expedition group to join you there.

The moment I thought FOGO was just an impossible dream, now you are giving me some hope. Not necessary to have them in my tank, but totally worth the trip to catch some, hold them in my hands... or possiblely see how it tastes like, j/k.
The earliest time I can go is probably right after raining season... the end of the year, if not next year for sure. I have to check my friend's schedule, too.
In the dry season, all you see are big adult fish. I want to know see if fogo in non breeding season are as red as what we see in pictures.
You are amazing.
