My name is Parker i have been a ray breeder for a few years out west but after Covid i moved to southern Idaho where there were not any restrictions on normal life. Long story short my female ray had some kind of complication during her pregnancy got pale In color for about a week but then went back to normal and next day pale and passed away. Have no idea what happened still trying to wrap my mind around it but im trying to decide if it’s even possible to find atleast 1 if not 2 or 3 large female rays. Or if it would be smarter to rehome my male to a good home and get pups and start the grow out process over again. If i had a choice I’d get BDs same as my big male who is about 14” disc size. I know someone selling females that big is extremely rare so I’d be open to other species as well but im just hoping if anyone has some or knows someone with some they could let me know. Thanks for the help here’s a picture of my male in a 340 gallon tank 7.5 feet x 3 feet floor space. The 600 is getting set up 75549891311__177B7492-2218-42EB-BBFC-8E2C977ABC16.jpeg

You will pretty regularly see adult rays for sale in the marketplace here, but there’s not a lot of peeps that ship adult rays d/t their size & shipping prices.
If you’re not in a hurry I suggest watching and waiting a few months to see what shows up.
I drove 11 hours round trip to pick up 3 2yr old rays (12-16”)

Hey Parker, sorry about your loss man, it’s always tough losing a ray
This is all I have available at the moment if anything interests you

I have a 20”+ female BD hybrid but she’s too big to ship

I’ve also got an 11” male mini marble breeder that I can ship

Then I have some smaller BDs in the range of 5-9” if you go for pups, that can ship

208 490 0073 please text me I’m not worried about making a drive as long as it’s within 12 hours otherwise shipping would be much faster. I have kinda a rare situation thru one of my good friends who owns waterfront aquarium in Murray Utah, he travels to west coast often and sometimes east coast and one of his part employees works for an airline as a flight attendant so with that connection if i have enough time to set it up i can have them brought back thru cargo with him on the plane with them to ensure they make it here and don’t get lost.

I have a breeding group of albino pearls if you are interested. Let me know.
I’d for sure be interested to see some pics i love albino pearls probably my favorite patterns on rays.

Sadly i wouldn’t be looking into any males unless i was to find a new home for my male bd, I’d love to see the hybrid tho if she is 20” she could withstand the breeding aggression from my male even if she was by herself. With my last female because she was same size i always had to put up the divider i built seemed like every other week to give her some time without him constantly biting her disc trying to breed.
