Lucky bamboo in a tall Aquarium

Will 2 22-24" lucky bamboo stalks in a 19" high 55 gal work? They have a lot of leaves that extend an additional 4-6" and the lighting will be a standard fluorescent light strip but the tank is also nearby a large window which might be of some aid. Are these hardy and can they take a beating from ebjd datnoids parrot fish and featherfin synodontis and a baby giraffe cat? Please no commentary on the giraffe cat just a lil baby and this is a growout tank. Btw the substrate is 2" of course gravel.

I've done it before, as long as the leaves are out of the water they should be fine. Becareful of the source though, some people have used it and their source has put pesticides and mold killers on it.
 
ok, but they've been in our house for about 2 months and idk about the pesticides but ik i haven't used any. so would the pesticides have worn off (if) they were ever used?
and should i burry it in substrate or leave in floating? substrate is 2" of course gravel.

can lucky bamboo withstand a beating from ebjd, parrot fish, and feather fin syno's?

Not for long. I have lucky bamboo in my tank with leaves out of the water; but in general, I don't prefer them unless you keep no herbivores. They do not take kindly to regular trimming of their roots, and mine haven't grown at all. Meantime, porthos on mine has grown a bit even when their roots are regularly trimmed.
