Hey guys, i picked up a 125 gallon that has 2 magnum 350 canister filters on it. I cleaned one out today and put a new pad in it, i saw the person before me had just filled the inside compartment with carbon. I ended up putting a few scrup pads in there, and then putting some carbon in a media bag and putting that on top. Now its making noises and it sounds like its coming from the motor area, like the spinning part. It doesnt make one steady noise but it does constantly make noise. Anyone have any ideas to why it started makeing noise and how i can try and fix this please?

mine does the same thing i think the magnetic impellar may be out of balance
thats my guess

when I first saw the topic i though you were asking about a old Dodge engine. heh.. but as far as you pump goes.. if it works off of a magnetic then its possible that the bushing could be wearing out, like Loaf said there could be something out of balance.

well i got it to be quiete now. What it was was some air in the top of the filter that was causing this. At least once i got that bubble out of there it stopped doing it.

Air in the system or too much/clogged media will make it noisy. As will a damaged impeller
