Mahseer, Tor, and Neolissochilus at Fish Story

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Lol, there's more inspiration for my 2nd 473 liter via more or less analogous fish. Just like the silver dollar vs cockroach was inspiration to feed my future chalceus big bugs, this is inspiration to feed my future roseline sharks and Odessa barbs for that same tank some bugs too (even if not so big).

Balaji aka Shovelnose on the PCF has provided some stellar input on Indian mahseer, especially malabaricus versus khudree but others also, in this thread of ours on the PCF. Starting from the bottom of page 29 and then on page 30:

Based on his info, I don't think we have or ever had any Tor malabaricus, who sport black rays in the fins, larger scales (lower count), and don't exceed 1ft.

Tried a tree frog in the 4500 gal. Soro (nominally) mahseer just barely beat silver arowana to it:

A far smaller 8" mahseer was found to chase and bite the tinfoils and the balas for 3 days. So they had to go into a 240 gal until a better option presents itself:
