Does anyone have an idea oh how to keep maine lobsters long term? I'm buying a blue morph lobster and wanted to keep it as a pet. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I believe you are going to need a chiller for that tank. These are cold water lobster. My understanding with American lobster is they prefer a temp range below 68 degrees and become stressed at higher temps. You could look at Tropical Lobsters like "Spiny Lobster" which is more colorful & would not need a chiller. Spinies get big; we used to hunt them with spear guns in Guam (too big to pickup, make Keys lobster look like minis). American lobster get big too. I had one that was @ 8 pounds reach back and take my mask off during a deep dive. Lobsters are the cockroaches of the sea scavenging the bottom and are more active nocturnally. Sounds like a cool tank and I'd like to see how this develops.

Nice. When and if you get tired of him/her guess what's for dinner? I've watched them eat while diving for them. Very messy eaters.

Years ago I bought a nice big live one from the supermarket.I used it to cycle my saltwater tank....and then, after it's job was done I ate it.

Definitely need a chiller, temps in the lower 50s. They can tolerate slightly warmer for short periods of time.
True they are scavengers, but do like clams and other shellfish.
The picture above is standard color. Every year a few blue ones are caught, and rarely other colors.

They also need pristine water. Yours will likely develop shell disease over time. Provide shelter too.
