Good evening all! Was just gifted this Gold Saum GT for my spare 75. Any thoughts on if it’s male or female? I’m leaning towards female. About 4-5” . Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

To me it looks male.
Male Andinoacara Rivilatus have bright shiny markings in the unpaired fins. Females don't have this.

A male as an example

Notice the bright markings in the unpaired fins

And a female example. See no bright markings in the unpaired fins.

I see, thank you. I was leaning towards female because I had seen so many pics of males with humps on the head.

Humps normally develop when they are more in a dominant fish position. My male pictured was recently acquired, and the dominant male in a tank full of GT's, hence the noticeable beginnings of a hump.

Thank you. He apparently was purchased from a LFS and introduced to the previous owners 75 where he was housed with a smaller Oscar and 4” or so Bichir I’m told. He killed the Oscar and bit a pectoral fin clean off the Bichir. Hence how I ended up with him. He does seem to have a lot of personality though! Thanks again.
