I needed a filter for my new 210,for me w/d was the only option.

So this is what I did:

Started with a old 55 gal tank

When I got the tank(the 210 used),the glass top were in bad shape,so i cut them down to use in the w/d.

Next came the filter inlet/heating chamber.(Note I was drunk when I did this)

Next was fitting together the bio area.

Letting it all set for a few days.

Then I THOUGHT it was done... but

I disassembled it all,the piece i put in when I was drunk was crooked.

After cutting all the silicone from the tank, new & old,I rebuilt it all.
now the first water test.

Making the drip plate.

Now its ready for the tank,if I can get the stand build...

Please let me know what you think, good or bad.
Let me know what I did wrong,& what I did right.
Thanks

UPDATE #1

Got bored tonight so I worked on the filter some more.

I wanted a lid on the sump so I cut some of the old frame down to make supports.

I made 3 of them,all the same.Here is the 1st one,along withe the side I never removed.

I finally got some filter socks.

I marked out the acrylic for the filter socks.

I made the holes in the acrylic,I didnt have the right size holesaw so I did what I could.
5.jpg

Raised the aux. mech/chem. compartment.
6.jpg

Installed the last piece of acrylic to help with evaporation,(over the bio area)& called it DONE.
7.jpg

Note the Aux mech area was made to fit 2 aqua clear 500 foam blocks.

UPDATE #2

Here are a few shots of how the tank will drain to the sump.

Thanks Rallysman, your sump inspired me to do this.

Yours is a hell of a lot nicer than mine! lol.

that is a very nice DIY wet/dry. now i'm considering breaking my old 60g apart and making one just for the hell of it with your guide..

BTW, do i have to be drunk also to make it look nice??? :D

I like it.

That is a PIMP set up!!!
