Making Roots?

LOOK MOM, I'M DOING IT!!!

Ok, I will post pics tonight of my progress. But this is what I did, I purchased PVC pipes and various sizes of drink save tubing. I used the .5" pvc to make the main 'vein' to the root and coated it with this brown Apoxie Sculpt. Now it's looking like a real mangrove root system and IMO is looking good.

The people at Aves Studio said this stuff was completely safe and if so, I'll be using this stuff on so many other projects.

pics i want to see what this looks like.

Ok forgive the size and the look, I"m no artist, but I see a lot of potential for this! I can't wait to complete it and put it in my tank, I already have ideas how to improve on the next "root" section.

I've thought about doing something similar in the past but never thought about how I'd actually do it.

Inspiring!

holy cow that is the best thing i have seen A++++++++++++++++++

Awesome!!!

I ordered 4lbs of the product. I used about 3lbs so far, and a lot of it was wasted "learning" how to apply the product to the hoses. This stuff is incredibly strong and I could have used thinner tubing. I'm ordered 4 more pounds of the stuff and will make more roots. These will be free-standing and I'll be able to move them around as needed for cleaning.

I don't like to advertise but I'm impressed with this product! I pray it's as safe as they claim. But I did some testing of my own. Here is a 1' long piece I made to see how strong this stuff is. In the picture, it's holding my bowling bag with a 16lb ball and other equipment. The tube is not sagging, that's the bend I put in it when I made it. It's as hard as a rock! I'm going to take pliers to see if I can crack it.
